First the selection into the British Gurkha Regiment, followed by the even more tough selection into the SBS and then, going sideways for his true passion - wanting to climb the 14, 8000+ peaks in world record timings. I wanted to read slowly and enjoy every sentence, but there were moments when the book just got me and I turned pages without stopping for hours. There was similar skimming on other peaks, and I honestly had read this hoping to learn more about the lesser-written-about 8,000ders. Brutal truth on mindset that can hinder or accelerate your ambitions whilst ensuring you take those around you with you!

His story is so inspiring - true grit and passion that made him lead the life he wanted from his childhood. In this spellbinding memoir , tied to the acclaimed Netflix documentary “14 Peaks,” Purja reveals the man behind the climbs, explaining how his early life in Nepal and training as a soldier in Britain’s elite Gurkha and SBS units allowed him to achieve a mountaineering mission few thought was attainable. The Netflix Documentary 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, explores Nepal’s deep connection to high-altitude mountaineering through the eyes of Nirmal “Nimsdai” Purja, a fearless, fun-loving Nepali climber on a quest he dubs “Project Possible”-to summit all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter mountains in just seven months.

That's an example to all those who gave up without starting, no matter what are they trying to achieve. The world had known about Nimsdai's superhuman feat in October 2019 ,but what the world had not known was all the effort, pain and setbacks Nims and his team endured to make Project possible a success.

Purja shows how leadership, integrity, and collaboration drive world's greatest climbing feats, including the first-ever winter ascent of Pakistan’s K2—another mountaineering milestone that he achieved in January 2021. Nims talks about physical and psychological skills obtained while becoming a Gurkha soldier and later serving in UK Special forces. what nimsdai did is amazing, if you've watched the Netflix documentary this book adds whole lot more about Nimsdais internal thoughts and motivation for projects possible.Seeing how vividly all the trial and tribulations are explained in the book, I have a new level of respect for all the Sherpa brothers and anyone who even dares to go through this. While I applaud the author for this incredible feat and his tenacity, in the end, it all felt way too dangerous.

There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. He also seems to be claiming credit for spearheading cleaning up the mountains, and he has launched a very public endeavor (good!

Purja seems like an outlier — offering help, generating positivity where there is fear, pushing on when everyone argues against it. This book also reveals men's ambition, his self-centered view to success and, his egoistic approach to reaching his goals.

They told me I was crazy, even though I'd sharpened my climbing skills on the brutal Himalayan peaks of Everest and Dhaulagiri. The Netflix Documentary 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible , explores Nepal’s deep connection to high-altitude mountaineering through the eyes of Nirmal “Nimsdai” Purja, a fearless, fun-loving Nepali climber on a quest he dubs “Project Possible”-to summit all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter mountains in just seven months. Yeah, none as many as him (really not sure his feat is easily repeatable, period, even in half measure). If you put your heart and soul into something, anything is possible if you stay focused ,determined ,are ready to invest in all your energy , whilst blocking all the negativity around . The TV documentary and the images in this book are tremendous, and certain aspects of Nirmal's story are humbling and inspiring; however, reading the terms "operator", "mindset", or "special forces" on every other page makes this slightly ridiculous. It is not that nims doesnt respect the mighty challenge of 8000ers but its just that he believed in himself much more than one can imagine.
