Every species is also comprehensively illustrated with photographs of every useful feature – bark, leaf, seed, flower, twig and whole tree. This includes native and naturalised species, plus a wide selection of ornamental trees and their cultivars. This is a great book for identifying and learning about trees commonly found in Britain (native and non-native), and has an interesting section on ecology, tree biology, and uses of wood. I maintain a blog that charts the weekly progress of the small woodland and ecological park next to my home.It might not be the most informative, in-depth or well-organised tree identification guide out there, but I find it pretty good.
